A good-humored, thorough, and respectful colleague

Alix joined OneChocolate in 2021 as a Junior Press Officer. Thanks to her open-mindedness, her perpetual good mood, and her curiosity, she was able to fit in seamlessly. Having had a few experiences in the PR field before, joining the agency has helped her deepen her knowledge. She has been able to perfect her skills in assisting the Account Directors and Managers in the many projects to improve customers’ visibility in the press and the media, while undertaking the analysis and reporting tasks on the specific accounts she is assigned to. Her cheerful nature and professionalism allow her to maintain a constant warm and friendly contact with customers, journalists, and colleagues alike.

Throughout the first few years of her career, Alix faced a variety of professional PR challenges. Her innate curiosity motivates her to continually acquire new knowledge and experience: for instance, after she completed a bachelor’s degree in English literature and civilization and a Master’s degree in European Studies, she learned the ropes of PR during an internship. She has fond memories of this experience, where she had the opportunity to build good relationships with her colleagues – and especially her tutor. She then had the opportunity to discover other aspects of PR work in other agencies before joining OneChocolate.

This passionate reader, proud of her hometown of Arras, in the North of France, demonstrated an early propensity for independence and discovery during her trips and experience as an au pair in England, as well as during the year she took part in an exchange programme in Dublin, where she strengthened her command of the English language and developed a fondness for travelling and meeting people from different cultures. When she joined the agency, she quickly found her feet and often expresses her “delight to work within a team comprised of open-minded and caring people.”

Her love of cinema – which happens to be “[her] favourite kind of art, because it allows to tell countless stories in a thousand different ways” –, combined with her curiosity and natural thirst for knowledge, equips her with the necessary qualities to produce high-quality content, fulfil her tasks, and develop her skills by communicating with her colleagues. She explains that “in an agency with a large proportion of experienced staff, [she is] able to learn from the various ways to work and communicate with clients and journalists in order to find [her] own path and build [her] own work methodology.” Finally, when asked about the person she admires the most, she answers without hesitation: “My mother, because she has a profound sense of justice and fairness and has made countless sacrifices to offer her children the very best opportunities in life.”

Quotes

  • My perception of work?

Despite my young age, I quickly realised that it is important to like your job. Even if your position allows you to balance both private and professional lives, you really need to feel motivated and involved. Personally, I am not comfortable in a stern, vertical, and hierarchical environment. I enjoy working in a harmonious climate where exchanges are based on a desire to pass on knowledge. I found such a work environment at OneChocolate, which allows me to evolve and thrive.

  •  If I had to mention a life-changing experience?

After completing my bachelor’s degree, I had the opportunity to become an assistant professor in French in a secondary establishment, in England. There, I used to teach students between 14 and 19 years of age, and given the small number of students, I sometimes taught the classes alone. I have the feeling that I passed on a lot, while learning nearly as much from them. This is when the values of sharing and transmission that I aspire to implement in my work at the agency crystallized in me.
